I'm back...
Okay so it has been quite some time since I have posted, I am a terrible blogger. But for the sake of my 2 followers I will post again! :) It has been a lot harder to think of top tens then I thought, David Letterman made it seem so easy! My biggest problem is narrowing down to 10 when I love and dislike so much more than I thought... Well I have decided to stop the excuses and begin again!!! So here goes my top ten spring and summer dresses:
I can only stop at one place when it comes to dresses because let's face it only one place has all my favorite dresses that I wish I could afford---ModCloth.
Dress Number 10: Ranch House Darling. This describes this dress so well; a dress to wear while walking through hay fields, or just around in Texas heat...

Dress Number 9: Out to Sea...I love love love this dress! I would love to be on a boat smooth sailing in this perfect blue dress!
Dress Number 8: Here Comes Success...If you want the job it starts here
Dress Number 7: Make an Impression...I love this color! I am not sure where I would wear this one, maybe a date to meet the parents...
Dress Number 6: SoCal Bungalow...I would love to wear this to a fancy event...an art show, a charity event; a dinner party...

Dress Number 5: Main Squeeze...Ironically I was thinking this would be a good 3rd/4th date dress
Dress Number 4:Fountain Fixture...This I would love to wear to a beach/lake house with the girlies
Dress Number 3:Wine and Rosettes...Another gorgeous color! This would be good for a first date or a wine tasting?...
Dress Number 2: Dianthus Fields...Easter Sunday Dress; or to a wedding (watch out, you could end up cuter than the bride)

Dress 1: Blue Sky Escape..Does it really matter where you wear this dress, you'll look classy so it's a must!
Well that's it for now! If you have favorites from modcloth I'd love to see! If you don't then you clearly havent looked so go now! Until the next time enjoy the thrills and frills of this life!

New Beginnings
So I have decided to start making the majority of my posts as my top tens. I very much enjoy making lists and after the inspiration of my cousin Christopher's challenge to a top ten celebrity crushes...I have decided to start my top ten's with this list...today it has been finalized. My lists may not interest the rest of the world, but possibly might spark some fun feedback...
My Top Ten in order from 10-1:
Number 10: Robert Downey Jr.
While he may be old enough to be my father, he still has the charm. Since he has come back from drugs, he has won me over with this smile....
Number 9: Joel Mcale
Yes, the guy from Community and The Soup. All girls say that a sense of humor can make a guy more attractive, but I was serious...his sometimes odd sense of humor has got me crushing...Agreed? Agreed.
Number 8: Penn Badgley
A great smile can go a long way for me, case in point....
Number 7:Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Recently he showed off an Irish accent in P.S. I Love You. Love It! He has charmed medical staff in the past on Grey's Anatomy and has done it again....
Number 6: Michael Buble
As I have said music is important to me and this guy's voice gives me reason enough to call him my number 6 crush....
Number 5: Paul Rudd
This crush started back in the clueless days and has lasted...he looks cuter every time I see him....
Number 4: Justin Timberlake
Yes I was an N'SYNC girl. He seems to have it all...a voice, acting skills, humor, style and that smile...
Number 3: Jesse Williams
Beautiful Skin, Beautiful Smile And Eyes to get lost in and What can I say he even looks good in scrubs!
Number 2: Joshua Radin
So He has had his chance twice to propose to me and both times he let it go by...third times the charm?
Number 1: Garrett Hedlund
I love football players and a man with a guitar...he has played both so needless to say, numero uno....
Hope you have enjoyed this top ten! Until the next, enjoy the thrills and frills of this life :)

Shine
Today I saw another beautiful sunrise. I have resolved to pay attention to the sunrise every chance I get. I have never felt more awake and alive then after delving into a deeper kind of sharing of God with a wonderful group of women at 530am and then walking out after to see the sky illuminating colors that left speechless (speechless at that time of coarse). If you have never heard of the Newsboys I will bring no shame to you, but I will suggest listening to at least one of their like 12 CD's. I am currently listening to there song Shine. It just went so well with my current mood. The Chorus is the inspiration....
shine
make ´em wonder what you´ve got
make ´em wish that they were not
on the outside looking bored
shine
let it shine before all men
let´em see good works, and then
let ´em glorify the Lord
make ´em wonder what you´ve got
make ´em wish that they were not
on the outside looking bored
shine
let it shine before all men
let´em see good works, and then
let ´em glorify the Lord
The sunrise just seemed like God’s way of shining in this way and it sure has made me glorify Him. I hope to shine in this way over the weekend and next week. And In case you have missed today's sunrise, here's one from my trip to Avila beach last year, enjoy God's Beauty. So until next the next sunrise enjoy the thrills and frills of this life…

Disappear
So these last couple weeks I have heard a recurrent lesson it seems.
I have never thought of myself of a proud person and yet today I have stumbled on the fact that I am sooo proud. I think so highly of myself that I think I am a humble person, funny to say out loud, but unfortunately a fact. I often think why have I yet to have a boyfriend I am an awesome person, these men are missing out on something special. God has whispered something to me over and over again...Replace the I in that phrase with God and proclaim it to the world. God is awesome and people are missing out on something special!
Lately I have been telling myself, I want to be more spontaneous, I want to do this, I want to do that...Thinking about the things that I want I see they all were about elevating myself. Making me feel better about myself, others looking at me and thinking they want what I have...but not in a good way. I had always loved the quote in the movie The Holiday where Kate Winslet's character talks about how shes not even the main character in her own life and talking about taking the lead in her story. I always thought "yeah I need to step up and stop being the supporting actress or the prop in someone else's grand story and be the main character!" Well wouldn't ya know that I heard another lesson this week that told me...really do you really want to control your life and make it all about you? Shouldn't God be the main charcter in our life. Less of me and more of Him. He afterall is the Creator of everyone's story, the Director, the Set Designer ( I could go on, but you get my point) So why shouldn't He be the main character He has the lines memorized and the control to change the lines and scene. So who better to control your life than the one that knows it's future.
Reading Crazy Love has been eye opening book for me. Although there are a lot of things in this book that God has revealed to me, (I basically could highlight the whole book (must read)) this last chapter has spoken to me the most in my newest revelation. Pg 138- "A person who is obsessed with Jesus knows that the sin of pride is always a battle. Obsessed people know that you can never be 'humble enough,' and so they seek to make themselves less known and Christ more known. (Matt. 5:16)."
-My challenge this week will be to do just this- make myself less known and Christ more known!
So What better song to round out the lessons of my life thus far than the good old bebo norman's Disappear. Until the next time may you enjoy the thrills and frills of this life....

Beauty In the Breakdown
French Word of the day...aperçu.
For those of you like me who don't really know french except what you may have learned from your nephew's baby einstein or the random french movies you've seen- this is a word that the french use to speak of a glimpse-an insight or a summary. So perfect way to start a blog about me with a glimpse, an insight, a summary of myself and what to expect. I graduated in May of this year. In some way this seems like just yesterday, but in the ways I feel I have grown so much that it seems like it has been years since I was in college. Two of the most important things to me...God and Music. If everything in this world was gone I know I would still always have God. He is the only one who will ever know me completely. I have an overstated passion for music. My dad has been in a Christian acapella group since I was born and both my parents have introduced so many types of music to me growing up. Because of my parents I feel I have been well versed in my two favorite things God and music. So this blog is going to most likely ensue around these two things the majority of the time.
Today...I wish I was artsy. I have never thought of myself as one of those people who are super creative all the time. Instead I thrive on others creativeness. So my great idea is to start my own creative story. Each day I am going to have a theme song (everyone should have a theme song for the day) or a song to explain my day/current feelings/frustrations/joys/successes/failures/etc. So today's song would have to be...Frou Frou: Let Go
Okay So enough of my scatterbrained beginnings to this blog...
Until next time enjoy the thrills and frills of this life! | (Photograph: Jerry Uelsmann) |
